WILKES-BARRE — One half of a Plains Township couple that has repeatedly made headlines for their run-ins with the law has pleaded guilty to a drug charge.
Christine Cromer, 38, along with her husband, Donald Cromer, 44, appeared in court before Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough on Monday on a variety of charges ranging from several different incidents.
Christine Cromer pleaded guilty to a charge of delivery of methamphetamine. The charge came in a case launched by prosecutors last April, when they accused the Cromers of selling methamphetamine.
State police also allege Donald Cromer sold meth to a buyer at his Maffett Street residence Feb. 14, and with his wife delivered meth to a buyer on North River Street on Feb. 15. Donald also delivered meth to a buyer on North River Street on March 15, according to criminal complaints.
Other drug charges against Christine Cromer were withdrawn by prosecutors. Donald Cromer did not enter a guilty plea, records show.
They are due back in court in two months.
Christine Cromer stands accused of falsely accusing state troopers of raping her in a cruiser outside of the Mohegan Sun Pocono casino, where she worked as a waitress.
She claimed variously to have been raped by two separate troopers, changing her story during a later application for a restraining order. Investigators say other statements she made were inconsistent.
She’s facing charges of false reports and unsworn falsification to county court.
Additionally, Donald Cromer is facing a charge of false imprisonment after he reportedly handcuffed Christine Cromer to a radiator during a domestic dispute at the couple’s home.
Records show the Cromers will be back in court in mid-March; Christine Cromer will be sentenced on the drug charge on March 15, while a trial has been scheduled on the couple’s remaining charges on March 18.
Currently, the Cromers remain free on bail.
