WILKES-BARRE — City police arrested a man they say robbed a Hazle Street store at knifepoint early Friday morning.
Police allege Daniel Martinez, 44, concealed his face with a ski mask when he entered Paris Mart and threatened a clerk with a knife just before 7:30 a.m.
Martinez demanded money and fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police allege.
Police followed shoe prints in snow across Hazle Street to Forrest Street. Shoe prints on the sidewalk along Bedwick’s Pharmacy indicated Martinez began to run, officers at the scene stated.
Martinez was arrested at his residence on Forrest Street, police said.
At least two customers were inside the store at the time of the robbery.
Martinez was arraigned Friday night by District Judge David Barilla in Forty Fort on charges of robbery, terroristic threats and simple assault. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.
