DURYEA — Borough police are asking for the public’s help in solving a burglary that occurred last Friday night in the 900 block of Foote Avenue.

According to a post on the Duryea Police Department’s Facebook page:

The victim told authorities that he left for work at 7:30 a.m., and when he returned at approximately 8:45 p.m., he found the front door had been kicked in.

Multiple pieces of jewelry, an old checkbook and a Smith & Wesson hunting knife were reportedly stolen from the residence.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to call the Duryea Police Department at 570-457-1721 or to utilize the department’s anonymous tip line at 1-833-373-8477.
