HAZLETON — City police are seeking a Wapwallopen woman for a drug case last fall where she was allegedly caught with 200 bags of fentanyl.

A felony warrant has been issued for Kaitlyn Lockard, 23, as part of an investigation by Hazleton officers and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, according to a press release.

A car Lockard was riding in was pulled over Oct. 25 while the suspect was in possession of fentanyl, according to Police Chief Jerry Speziale and court records.

She was stopped while traveling back to the Wapwallopen area to sell the drug, and attempted to throw it out a car window, authorities report.

Fentanyl is a powerful painkiller that is often mixed with heroin and has been blamed for contributing to the nationwide spike in fatal opioid overdoses.

Lockard is facing a felony count of possession with intent to deliver.

Anyone who has any information on her whereabouts should contact the Hazleton Police Department by calling 911.
