EXETER — John Morgan has announced he is seeking another term on borough council.

Morgan, a 1993 graduate of Wyoming Area High School, is a lifelong resident of Exeter and has served on council since 2010.

His schooling includes an associate’s degree from Luzerne County Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Marywood University.

He is a member of the Wyoming Area Football Alumni Association and is involved with the Exeter Events Group.

He said his proudest accomplishment in office has been the acquisition and installation of the pumps at the Hicks Creek pumping station, which he says he worked on diligently along with other council members and state Sen. John Yudichak.

To honor Yudichak for his work on the project, Morgan recently proposed naming the pumping station after the lawmaker.

In a press release, the councilman says his major priorities going forward are “re-establishing a full-time police force with full-time officers and a chief of police in order to improve public safety, and also educating the community about the benefits of recycling to reduce littering in the borough.”

Morgan has been married to wife Michelle, a teacher in the Wyoming Area School District, for 18 years. They have two children: John, 15, and Jacob, 11.
