DALLAS TWP. — Misericordia University has named George Godlewski as director of the new, fully online Healthcare Analytics graduate program set to begin this fall.

A media release noted completion of the 36-credit program leads to a master of science degree under the university’s College of Health Sciences and Education. There will also be an 18-credit certification, with those credits eligible for the master’s degree.

“The new academic program prepares creative and diligent professionals who use data to communicate and enact meaningful improvements in the delivery of health care,” the release said.

Godlewski is coming to Misericordia after three decades with Geisinger Health System, most recently as vice president of quality and safety. The release notes he worked on a system-wide quality program “including regulatory performance improvement, quality metrics and analytics, infection control and prevention, patient safety and clinical risk management, patient experience and service, medical health physics, and more.”

While at Geisinger, he also worked as associate vice president in the divisions of psychiatry, spiritual care and hospital care management, as well as operations manager for women’s health and specialty clinics. He has worked in higher education as well, including instruction at Marywood and Temple universities, and as a clinical assistant professor of medicine for the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.

Currently living in Northumberland, Godlewski earned his bachelor degree in sociology at the University of Michigan, a master’s of social work from the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate in human development and social work at Marywood University.
