HANOVER TWP. — Township police arrested Dennis Jared Hynes, 24, on charges he burglarized a residence on Lee Park Avenue and assaulted a person on Sunday.

Police said they responded to a domestic dispute just before 8 a.m. when a victim claimed Hynes entered their residence through a bathroom window. Once inside, Hynes assaulted the victim, police allege.

Hynes was arrested at his residence on Reservoir Street in Wilkes-Barre Township.

Hynes was arraigned by District Judge Donald Whittaker in Nanticoke on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault, terroristic threats and criminal mischief. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 bail.

Police arrest man for aiming gun at woman

PLAINS TWP. — Township police arrested Octavio Antonio Santiago, 28, on charges he threatened a woman with a gun he held to her head during a domestic dispute early Monday morning.

According to a criminal complaint:

Police responded to a residence on Crow Street at about 2:20 a.m. and spoke with a woman.

While speaking with the woman, Santiago walked onto the porch where she claimed he was carrying a gun.

Police said they searched Santiago finding a loaded .45-caliber handgun in his waistband, the complaint says.

The woman told police Santiago was highly intoxicated and went to bed. She spotted Santiago’s cell phone and decided to look through the phone finding out he was conversing with other women.

When she confronted Santiago about what she found in his phone, she claimed he became irate and grabbed her neck, the complaint says.

Another woman in the house attempted to break up the fight and was allegedly pushed away by Santiago.

Santiago left the house but returned two minutes later brandishing a gun he aimed at the woman’s head, the complaint says.

Police said Santiago’s concealed weapon’s permit expired on Dec. 31, 2018.

Santiago was arraigned Monday by District Judge Matthew C. Christopher in Luzerne County Central Court on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, firearms not to be carried without a license and harassment. He was jailed at the county correctional facility for lack of $50,000 bail.

Police said they responded to Turkey Hill for a disorderly male at about 2:52 a.m. and encountered Ktytor.

Ktytor allegedly threatened to break the glass doors to the coolers containing alcohol if employees did not open the doors for him.

Ktytor was told it is state law and store policy that alcohol cannot be served or sold after 2 a.m., police said.

Police said Ktytor allegedly broke the security seal on the glass door to alcohol. Several store items were allegedly found in his pants.

Ktytor was arraigned Saturday by District Judge Donald Whittaker in Nanticoke on two counts of retail theft, and one count each of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.
