We all know that Memorial Day is pretty much the unofficial start of summer. So it is time to get beach and BBQ ready! The best swimsuits tend to go pretty quickly and although it may not always be the thing you like to shop for the most, we gurantee you will be more excited after seeing this years trends!

Here are those trends

• Polka Dots

Do you automatically start singing “It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini?” Well it totally doesn’t need to be itsy bitsy – so many variations of this classic print. There is always an element of vintage feels with dotted swimwear.

• Sustainability

This is a trend that has evolved so much when it comes to swimwear. A lot of swim wear labels have started to launch sustainable and ethically created swimwear. We can anticipate that this will continue to grow in the years ahead.

• High-waist swim

This is perfect if you are looking for a high-waist, high-cut bottom that will give you more coverage in areas. Finding the right fit for this is imperative as it can actually cover problem areas and elonagate the legs. There are so many cute versions of this trend out there this season.

• Belted

I think this is my absolute favorite this year. Belts have been given a big push in accessories and everyday wear so I love that we brought them into our poolside fashion. Belts take what can just be a simple swimsuit and make it look completely elevated and a bit more high fashion. They also help to create shape.

• Knotted swimwear

These can be spotted everywhere right now. The knotted detail is being added to shoulders, bottoms, waist and bust to give a bit more pizazz to the suit. It can feel simple and classic but fun!

• Bow details

If anyone knows me they would tell you I am a big fan of bows! Much like the knot details on swimwear bows are popping up on swimsuits. If you are looking for something not so plain jane and want to add something a little feminine, this may be the one for you!

• Modest swimwear

It is a bit refreshing that this one is on the list. Over the last few years we have seen barely there swimsuits and anything that had more coverage was almost deemed boring. Modest fashion was big on the runways and now it has trickled into swimwear that you can feel comftorable in while feeling stylish. Retro flair, fun necklnes and playfun prints can all be attained modestly this summer.

Believe it or not: Modest swimsuits are sure to be in style at the beach this season.
