Following is a listing of Memorial Day events scheduled throughout the region today.

Ashley

Memorial Day Parade, 9 a.m.

Dallas

Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post Memorial Day Parade: Forms at the legion post at 8 a.m., with the parade beginning at 9 a.m. sharp and ending at the Dallas roundabout. A service will follow the parade at Warden Cemetery and then Chapel Lawn Cemetery.

Hanover Township

A parade will be held in the Breslau Section of Hanover Township at 10 a.m., starting at the Old Firehouse on First Street and ending at the Lyndwood Elementary School.

Hudson

The Hudson VFW, Lani Memorial Post 6325 will hold its annual Memorial Day services at 11 a.m. at the post home, 35-37 Cleveland St. Post officers and interested regular members are invited to attend the ceremony. There will be a memorial at the honor roll in Shanty Town at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Hunlock Creek

The Oakdale Cemetery Association will hold its annual Memorial Day service at 10:30 a.m. at the cemetery.

Jenkins Township

The veterans memorial monument in the township’s Shantytown section will be rededicated with a ceremony starting at 8:30 a.m., conducted by a contingent from the Plains American Legion.

Kingston

West Side Memorial Day Parade: line-up 10 a.m. at Kingston Corners, kick-off 10:30 a.m., marching to Forty Fort Cemetery.

Sweet Valley

Sweet Valley Fire Co. Memorial Day Fair and Parade: Grounds open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Firemen’s parade at 1:30 p.m.

West Pittston

The combined American Legions of West Pittston and Exeter will sponsor a Memorial Day Parade starting at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Linden Street and Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston and ending at Wyoming Area Catholic’s gym on Wyoming Avenue in Exeter.

There will be a number of parades and ceremonies throughout the region today to mark Memorial Day.
