WILKES-BARRE — Weather has delayed the completion of utility work on South Main Street and extended the closing of the roadway until June 27.
The roadway will be closed to traffic, except emergency vehicles, between South and Northampton streets from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday for the utility project underway by PPL. The work was initially expected to be finished by June 24.
Travel delays are expected and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

The closing of South Main Street in Wilkes-Barre has been extended until June 27 for utility work that has been delayed by the wet weather.
