NUANGOLA — The walls weren’t the only things damaged during a break-in and wild party at Maria Sitar’s childhood home.

The underage partygoers who bragged about the bash on social media littered the house on Blytheburn Road with plastic cups, empty bottles, pizza boxes, vomited in the toilet and smashed in and ripped the drywall from the studs, shocking Sitar, who grew up there with her sister.

“You’ve violated our memories of the house,” Sitar, 43, of Plains Township, said Friday while standing in the still-trashed living room.

Her brother-in-law discovered the mess Thursday when he came up to cut the grass and noticed the for-sale sign missing from the lawn. It lay on the rug just inside the front door. Rice Township police confirmed there is an ongoing investigation and asked anyone with information to call them at 570-868-6400.

Sitar said it appeared someone entered the house through a basement window and let others in through the front door for the party that began Tuesday night and lasted into Wednesday morning. The house has been on the market and vacant after her father Bernard Dancheck died in April.

“What they did was cover the windows with my father’s coats, ” so no one could see in, Sitar said. The electricity was still on in the house.

They also retrieved a folding table from the basement and used it to play beer pong, Sitar said. The table lay upended on the floor. An unopened package of ping pong balls was found in a kitchen drawer. Across the room on a counter top were stacks of large plastic cups, smaller shot-sized cups and empty bottles of Twisted Tea. The drywall had a gaping hole in it with a clear view into the next room.

“This is nothing,” Sitar said.

At the top of the stairs to the second floor, Sitar pointed out the outline of a body from the impact of someone launching themselves into the wall from the bathroom. The toilet was unflushed and filled with vomit. One of the two bedrooms was ransacked, but not her late parents’ room. It was empty and untouched.

“This wasn’t some warehouse or some vacant place,” Sitar bristled. “This is where I grew up,” she said.

Sitar was optimistic that police would find out who damaged the house and she encouraged them to cooperate in the investigation.

“If they want it to be easier on them, they better come forward now,” Sitar said.
