PITTSTON — A Pittston man was arraigned Wednesday on charges he stabbed another man earlier this week.

City police allege Robert Paisley, 18, stabbed Richard Asay in the elbow and lower back with a kitchen knife during an argument inside 165 Parsonage St. on Monday.

Asay intended to evict his daughter, Amanda Asay, and Paisley. During the argument, Paisley grabbed a knife and stabbed Richard Asay, according to the criminal complaint.

Paisley is related to Asay.

Asay was treated at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.

Police said they recovered a knife covered with blood in the kitchen of the residence.

Paisley was arraigned by District Judge Richard Cronauer in Wilkes-Barre on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $20,000 bail.
