WILKES-BARRE TWP. — A convicted sexual predator from New York and his wife were captured near the Wyoming Valley Mall on fugitive related charges.

State police said they received information Sunday that Scott C. Flynn, 53, and Kimberly S. Flynn, 37, also known as Kimberly Hardenbergh, were located at Frances Slocum State Park in Kingston Township.

Flynn and his wife were captured during a traffic stop in the area of Kidder Street and the entrance to the mall Monday afternoon.

Court records say an arrest warrant was issued June 26 by the Justice Court in the Town of Tusen, N.Y., charging Scott Flynn with failure to register or verify his address, and the Family Court of Sullivan County, N.Y., issued a warrant for Kimberly S. Flynn on June 19 on allegations she failed to appear for a court proceeding.

According to the New York Division of Criminal Justice Services website, Scott Flynn was convicted in Sullivan County, N.Y., in 2005 of rape of a child less than 18-years-old. He was sentenced to five-years, six months to 11 years in state prison in New York and released on parole in January 2016.

Scott Flynn is designated as a sexual predator, according to the website.

Court records say Kimberly Flynn was convicted of endangering the welfare of a child and sentenced to an unknown probation term in New York.

They list their address as 14 Erie Ave., Narrowsburgh, Sullivan County, along the Delaware River, which is the Pennsylvania-New York border.

Scott Flynn and Kimberly Flynn were jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility without bail after they were arraigned on fugitive from justice charges by District Judge James Haggerty in Kingston.

An extradition hearing for the duo is scheduled in county court on Aug. 2.
