WYOMING — A child from Wyoming had her wish fulfilled recently, being sent to Disneyland to watch the taping of dance competition series “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Selena Nova suffers from epilepsy, a neurological disorder that causes recurrent seizures. Nova was selected to have a wish granted by the Kids Wish Network, a charity dedicated to providing wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses.

Nova, a dancer herself from a young age, was taken to Florida to visit the Kids Wish Network’s headquarters, according to a release from the organization. Once there, she learned she would be heading to Los Angeles to visit Disneyland and view a taping of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Her mom, Amy, said in the release that watching the taping was an incredibly emotional experience.

“I cried after the first set of dancers; it was a surreal and amazing experience for my daughter,” Amy is quoted as saying.

Nova got to meet the show’s judges, including executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Laurieann Gibson and Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval.

According to Nova’s mom, there was one clear highlight of the trip.

“My favorite part of her wish was seeing her really happy,” she said. “Her wish was a time when everything was about her.”
