JENKINS TWP. — A couple from Forty Fort was killed following a head-on crash on River Road on Thursday.
Township police said Joseph R. Lyons, 83, and Gloria J. Lyons, 80, were pronounced dead at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Police said Joseph Lyons and his wife were in a 2010 Hyundai Sonata that crashed with a 2016 Hyundai Sonata, operated by Zabrina M. Burge, 27, of Wyoming.
Burge and a passenger in her vehicle, Shaikhm M. Conteg, 26, of Wilkes-Barre, were transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Police said the state troopers, Plains Township police, and fire departments from Jenkins Township, Hughestown and Pittston assisted at the scene.
