WILKES-BARRE — A man who emerged from a Turkey Hill restroom after more than 15 minutes attempted to hide heroin packets from a city police officer early Friday morning, according to court records.

Corey David Arnott, 27, address listed as homeless, had to be given a dose of Narcan up his nose when he began to pass out in front of an officer just after 2 a.m., court records say.

Arnott was allegedly found in possession of heroin packets, a syringe and a glass pipe.

According to the criminal complaint:

A store clerk at the Turkey Hill store on Hazle Street flagged down an officer with concerns a man was in the restroom for more than 15 minutes.

The officer knocked on the door and heard a man say he was on his way out. Before the door opened, the officer overheard the toilet flush multiple times.

Police said Arnott was jittery and had a difficult time staying focused and standing still.

When Arnott removed his hand from a pocket, police said a syringe fell to the floor.

Arnott was holding a glass pipe wrapped in a McDonald’s wrapper and heroin packets in his hand, and attempted to kick away a heroin packet that fell to the floor, the complaint says.

Police said Arnott had fresh track marks on his right arm.

After Arnott was handcuffed, Arnott dropped several heroin packets stamped “Call of Duty,” the complaint says.

Arnott was administered a dose of Narcan when he began to pass out, and later vomited after he was given the dose.

Arnott was arraigned by District Judge Rick Cronauer in Wilkes-Barre on charges of tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.
