HANOVER TWP. — For the past 10 years, Team Navient has hosted its sponsored bilingual classroom from Luzerne County Head Start at its company’s holiday party.

This year, 17 students, four teachers and the executive director attended the holiday event. In total, Navient has contributed more than $269,000, in annual golf tournament funds and grants/scholarship to the classroom since 2004.

During the event, students enjoyed lunch and entertainment with employees. The students also listened to Santa Claus read a children’s book — “It’s Not Easy Being Santa! — A Christmas Tale,” by Praga Tomar. They were gifted a copy of the book to take home.

“It was a delight to host the students and teachers of the classroom we sponsor,” said Lisa Stashik, Navient vice president. “The annual holiday event is a great opportunity to get into the holiday spirit and engage with the children we support year-round.”
