WILKES-BARRE — Shifting down two floors in the Luzerne Bank building on Public Square, Coal Creative has found itself in a bigger space, and the business celebrated finally getting settled in with a ribbon cutting Thursday evening.

Holly Pilcavage, the newly announced CEO of the downtown Wilkes-Barre-based marketing company, said the ribbon-cutting is the culmination of a multiple month process to move into the new space, after having moved in around Father’s Day last year.

“We kind of got acclimated to the space,” she said. “In the past 60 days, we kind of put all of this together.”

“All of this” entailed a studio space, new flooring, new paint and other renovations, but now it was all ready to show off.

Dozens gathered in support, including Mayor George Brown, who said Coal Creative is one of the driving forces behind the revitalization of the downtown.

“You folks here are the future of Wilkes-Barre,” Brown said to the Coal Creative employees. “You are the ones who are going to take Wilkes-Barre to the next level.”

And Brown seemed certain that their work will lead to something great.

“I want to make this the entrepreneur capitol of Pennsylvania,” Brown said.
