MOOSIC — Acknowledging the Dave & Buster’s logo on a zoning application is the closest local officials will come to commenting the national restaurant and entertainment chain has plans to open in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The publicly traded company has its eyes on the Shoppes at Montage, according to an application submitted to Moosic Zoning Hearing Board.

A message left at Dave & Buster’s Dallas, Texas headquarters was not immediately returned Friday.

Shoppes’ owner U.S. Properties Group declined comment.

“It’s on one of the plans,” Pete Kanton, chairman of the borough’s zoning hearing board, said of the proposed tenant.

The board met Tuesday and Thursday approved setback variances sought by USPG Portfolio Five LLC for a planned future restaurant on Lot No. 3. The design for the restaurant’s exterior contained circular Dave & Buster’s signs above the entrance and at other locations on the 19,014 square foot building identified in the application.

Plans show the proposed restaurant in an area of the shopping complex between Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar and the Christmas Tree Shops.

The company’s has more than 130 restaurants throughout North America. The nearest ones are in the Philadelphia and Harrisburg areas.
