Five people wanted by authorities were apprehended by local police this week.

  • Wilkes-Barre police and U.S. Marshals arrested Janssen Kenner, 27, at his residence on Loomis Street, Wilkes-Barre, just before 8:30 a.m. Friday. Authorities said Kenner has multiple warrants in Passaic, N.J., including a weapon’s offense. Kenner was arraigned as a fugitive from justice and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for alck of $75,000 bail.
  • Plains Township police said they arrested Joshua A. Thomas, 29, of Clarks Summit, when he was found at Turkey Hill on South Main Street at 12:55 a.m. Thursday. Thomas was turned over to state parole agents.
  • Hanover Township police arrested Michael Martin, who was wanted by the Luzerne County Adult Probation Department. Martin was apprehended when police investigated a vehicle that was abandoned and blocking traffic on Lee Park Avenue at 7 a.m. Thursday. Martin was jailed at the county correctional facility.
  • Also in Hanover Township, police arrested Abdur Raheem McCoy, 28, of Wilkes-Barre, during a traffic stop on Sans Souci Parkway at 2:36 a.m. Sunday. McCoy was jailed at the county correctional facility after a records check showed he was wanted by the county sheriff’s department.
  • Wilkes-Barre Township police on Feb. 22 arrested Crystal Yates, 36, of Kingston, while investigating drug activity in the area of Blackman and Charles streets. Police said Yates was wanted by the Monroe County Adult Probation Department. Yates and Brandy Marienschek, 34, of Honesdale, and Genevieve Ace, 28, of Taylor, were charged by Wilkes-Barre Township police on drug possession charges after marijuana, methamphetamine and heroin were allegedly found inside their vehicle.
