SCRANTON — Crowds have filled the area around the Scranton Cultural Center for this evening’s Fox Town Hall event with President Donald Trump.

Among those lining up are visitors from around the region and beyond, including at least two local Republican Congressional candidates.

Jim Bognet, a Hazleton-area resident seeking the GOP nomination for the 8th District, said he expects to hear “an amazing, impassioned speech.”

Mike Cammisa, another Hazleton Republican vying for the nomination, also was spotted at the event, together with Alec Ryncavage, the newly seated Plymouth Councilman who has been working on Cammisa’s campaign.

Others came from farther.

Joe Coscia traveled all the way from Long Island to see the president.

“I want to hear him talk about all the positive things he’s done,” Coscia said, adding that re-election isn’t a certainty, but he believes it will happen.

“If the American people use common sense, they’ll vote for Donald Trump,” he added.

Also present: Plymouth’s own Junior Fire Chief Brian Lyons, with his mother, Linda Zupancic

“He just wanted to meet the president,” Zupancic said.

Meanwhile, former congressmen Lou Barletta and Tom Marino have arrived at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Interational Airport to welcome the president, who is expected to touch down shortly before 5:30 p.m.
