HARVEYS LAKE — A press release issued Tuesday by Grotto Pizza confirmed that the chain would be reopening its Harveys Lake location for dine-in customers today.

Grotto closed the Harveys Lake and Wilkes-Barre Township restaurants on June 28 after three employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The Wilkes-Barre Township location reopened its dining room on Monday, and now Grotto Pizza will once again be open to customers at Harveys Lake.

The release detailed the measures that both Grotto locations took to ensure that the restaurants would be safe and sanitized for customers. This included a special disinfectant applied to surfaces that will provide long-lasting protection against the coronavirus.

“We wanted to do more than what is required and recommended by the CDC,” said Armand Mascioli, the co-owner and chief operating officer of Grotto Pizza.

Seating will be available on the outdoor deck as well as in the Grand Slam sports bar.

“Dine-in business at each location is at fifty-percent capacity with spacing and physical barriers to enforce social distancing,” Mascioli said.

Grotto’s third location in Edwardsville was unaffected by the outbreak.
