WILKES-BARRE — The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Sunday confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 in Luzerne County and no new deaths.
That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the county to 4,024; the death count remains at 189.
Neighboring Lackawanna County has 2,396 cases and 215 deaths; Monroe County has 1,773 cases and 129 deaths.
The health department does not release a statewide update on Sundays.
On Saturday, there were 1,162 additional positive cases of COVID-19 statewide, bringing the total to 149,845. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.
There are 7,956 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 22 new deaths reported.
Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
