WILKES-BARRE — NBC’s Lester Holt will anchor NBC Nightly News from Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday as part of the newscast’s “Across America” series that kicks off on Monday.
The stop in Wilkes-Barre will be Holt’s third stop of the week, first heading to Las Vegas on Monday and Milwaukee on Tuesday before heading to Luzerne County on Wednesday.
The veteran broadcaster will be on the ground talking to voters about the issues that matter to them, including jobs, the economy, health care, racial injustice and the government’s response to combating COVID-19.
Luzerne County has been regarded as a crucial county in one of the most sought-after battleground states in the country, voting for Barack Obama’s reelection in 2012 before turning red in favor of Donald Trump in 2016.
The broadcast will also feature reports related to U.S. election security and voting led by NBC’s Vote Watch Unit, a tram of more than 24 reporters and correspondents focused on social media information and disinformation, voting procedures and more.
