WILKES-BARRE — The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Sunday that there were 89 new cases of COVID-19 in Luzerne County and no new deaths.
That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the county to 5,141; the death count is at 196.
Neighboring Lackawanna County has 3,629 cases and 218 deaths; Monroe County has 1,992 cases and 135 deaths.
On Saturday, the Department of Health confirmed that there were 2,043 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 192,622.
Daily increases are now comparable with what we saw in April 2020.
