AVOCA — As of 7 p.m. ET Tuesday night, WNEP went dark on DIRECTV.

The news station issued a detailed staement about the situation.

“Our original agreement expired at 8 p.m. on Nov. 30 and we extended until last night’s 7 p.m. deadline,” the statement began.

Here’s what WNEP issued Wednesday morning:

“Unfortunately, DIRECTV has not come to an agreement with WNEP to keep our station available on their service. We have successfully negotiated multi-year deals with hundreds of cable and satellite providers across the country without disruptions to service.

“Our content remains the most popular and highly viewed programming available. More importantly, the value of what we offer to our MVPD (multichannel video programming distributor) partners has never been greater. The differentiated, non-substitutable programming we provide including live local news, live local and national sports and first run, highly popular network content is a vital reason why consumers continue to subscribe to MVPD bundles.

“While we remain hopeful that this will get resolved quickly, our viewers should know that our channel is available on other service providers in our community as well as many streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV and fuboTV that offer instant access when viewers sign up. Viewers can watch our newscasts live on our stations’ websites, Roku and mobile apps.”
