Award-winning journalist and author Seamus McGraw will present ‘The End of Country,’ at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 in Evans Hall, Hibbard Campus Center at Keystone College.

LA PLUME – The Keystone College Concerts and Lectures Series will welcome award-winning journalist and author Seamus McGraw for a free presentation, “The End of Country,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 in Evans Hall, Hibbard Campus Center.

In his critically acclaimed book “The End of Country: Dispatches from the Frack Zone,” McGraw writes about his native Northeastern Pennsylvania and the conflict between area residents and gas companies following the discovery of Marcellus Shale gas deposits.

His lecture at Keystone will look at the issues of fracking and the implications of energy choices.

McGraw was awarded the Freedom of Information Award from the Associated Press Managing Editors and was honored by the Casey Foundation and the Society of Professional Journalists. He is also the author of the soon to be released “Betting the Farm on a Drought: Stories from the Front Line of Climate Change,” and is a regular contributor to The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Reader’s Digest, Stuff Magazine and Spin, among others. He resides with his wife and children in Winona Lakes.
