A big thank you to all who have been so encouraging about our new digital catalog, introduced to the Lackawanna County Library System on March 26. We hope you are enjoying discovering the new features. Thank you for your patience as we continue to get everything worked out and settled. Changing over to something new is always a process, but we have heard great and positive feedback.

Spring is here, and that means it is time for a book sale.

Join us at the Clarks Summit Methodist Church on Saturday, April 25 for the Friends of the Abington Community Library Spring Book Sale. Stop in between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. for some great deals. Browse thousands of adult and children’s books, talking books, and DVDs.

The Preview Sale will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, for Friends members exclusively after set-up. Not a current member? Join or renew your membership Friday evening for $10 per individual or $15 per family.

While you are at the Book Sale, be sure and stop by the Abington Community Library’s Teen Leadership Committee table. The ACL-TLC sponsors unique children’s programs throughout the year such as Sanskrit Class, LEGO Club, Family Storytime, Crafters’ Club and Minecraft Meet-Up. Many of our big events and fundraisers would not run as smoothly without their help and creativity. Support their work by purchasing coffee, snacks, and baked goods. All proceeds will go towards the ACL-TLC.
