WILKES-BARRE TWP. — An arrest warrant was issued for a man from Pittsburgh charging him with robbing the Fine Wine and Good Spirits store in Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace earlier this month.

Township police identified the suspect as Pedro Ewing, 42, last known address as Presque Isle Drive.

Ewing is charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of a weapon and retail theft. The warrant was signed by District Judge Michael Dotzel in Wilkes-Barre Township.

Police said a man wearing a baseball cap, brown coat, dark pants an white and black sneakers entered the store just after it opened on April 3. The suspect held a gun to a clerk and demanded cash, police said.

Police said the suspect appeared at first to be shopping, selecting several bottles of liquor and placing them on the counter. Police allege the suspect did not demand money until after the clerk told him the cost of his purchase.

Police said the suspect fled in a small vehicle that was seen traveling at a high rate of speed as it exited the shopping center onto Highland Park Boulevard.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Ewing is asked to call 911 or [email protected].
