SCRANTON — A man from Hazleton was recently sentenced to more than four years in federal prison on charges he peddled heroin and fentanyl for nearly a year.

U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion sentenced Miguel Dotel, 43, to 51 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release.

Dotel conspired with others from March 2018 to July 2019 to distribute approximately 200 grams of heroin and 250 grams of fentanyl, according to a news release from Acting U.S. Attorney Bruce D. Brandler.

The matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and sate police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffery St. John prosecuted the case.
