Earth Conservancy to hold information session for training program

WILKES-BARRE — The Earth Conservancy will holding a public information session for individuals interested in applying to its Environmental Workforce Training Program.

The information session will be heldat 10 a.m. Friday at PA CareerLink Luzerne County at Wilkes-Barre at 32 East Union Street.

The program offers unemployed, underemployed and dislocated workers in Northeastern Pennsylvania the opportunity to study surveying and environmental skills and technologies without the cost of traditional college tuition. The 205-hour program includes eights classes, which are taught by instructors at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. The cost of the program is $4,289.

After completing the program, participants will earn 20.5 hours of continuing education credits from Penn State and three federally-recognized certifications and job placement assistance through PA CareerLink partners. Twenty-five students will be accepted for the 2018 program, which begins in mid-February and concludes in mid-April.
