HANOVER TWP. — Hanover Township police are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run Saturday night.

The crash occurred at around 9 p.m. Saturday, near the intersection of Oxford and Luzerne streets.

Police say that’s when a 2006 white Ford Mustang struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road.

According to a press release from Hanover Township police, the individual was taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital with “serious injuries.” The individual has not been identified, nor has any update on their condition been provided. Blood could be seen in the roadway Sunday afternoon.

Police say that, after striking the pedestrian, the driver continued to head west on Oxford Street, possibly continuing onto West End Road.

The vehicle is described as having a black top with a black stripe on the side. It’s also missing its passenger side mirror. It will likely have damage to the front passenger side as well.

Hanover Township police are asking that anyone with information pertaining to the hit-and-run call 570-825-1254. So far, they said, there is no information regarding the whereabouts of the driver.
