WRIGHT TWP. — Crestwood School District received letters from three people interested in filling a vacant School Board seat, according to Superintendent Natasha Milazzo.
The seat became available at the end of the annual re-organization meeting Dec. 7 when the board accepted the resignation of Randy Swank. The resignation was not on the agenda because the resignation had come within the last 24 hours before the meeting, Solicitor Jack Dean said. The state requires agendas be posted online at least 24 hours before a meeting’s scheduled start time.
Prospective candidates had until noon Monday to submit letters of intent. School Boards have up to 30 days to fill a seat when someone resigns; If the members can’t agree on a replacement, the choice is made by a county judge. Crestwood School Board President John Macri has scheduled a special meeting for this Thursday, Dec. 14.
