SCRANTON — A man from Connecticut was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges he robbed banks in Duryea and Plymouth earlier this month.

David Sandy Lee Parks, 59, was arrested by the Upper Macungie Police Department, Lehigh County, on July 17 on charges he robbed the First Niagara Bank in Trexlertown, just outside of Allentown. He is jailed at the Lehigh County Jail in Allentown for lack of $250,000 bail on charges of robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, possessing instruments of crime, simple assault, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.

Parks was indicted Tuesday on charges he robbed the Peoples Security Bank, Duryea, on July 3, and Wells Fargo Bank, Plymouth, on July 10, according to federal court records.

The indictment alleges Parks used a pellet gun in the two bank robberies.
