WILKES-BARRE — A Wilkes-Barre man is charged with violating the city’s noise ordinance early Tuesday morning.

Police said an officer was dispatched at 12:09 a.m. Tuesday to a residence in the 200 block of New Hancock Street for a report of a loud party with people arguing.

Police said approximately 50 people fled from the area when the officer arrived. Police allege that as individuals fled and were out of the officer’s sight, they lit off fireworks.

The police report indicates that Darik Johnson, 21, was charged with violating the city’s noise ordinance.

No further information was given.
