LUZERNE — A man is accused of sexually assaulting a minor over the course of 18 months from 2012 to 2013.

Michael Dynak, 31, of Bennett Street in Luzerne, faces charges of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and corruption of minors stemming from the alleged abuse.

According to the criminal complaint:

Dynak was released from the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on Dec. 23, 2011. A minor living at a residence Dynak was staying at reported inappropriate sexual contact by Dynak about a month after he lived there.

The victim reported that Dynak would remove her clothing and have sex with her. Investigators determined the inappropriate contact occurred from January 2012 to July 2013.

The victim reported the abuse to a sibling, who confronted Dynak. Dynak reportedly told the sibling he was “sorry” and then gathered his belongings and left the residence.

The criminal complaint did not specify why Dynak was in the county prison. According to the state’s judicial portal, Dynak has a lengthy history of various criminal dockets. He was previously charged with posing as a firefighter and writing bad checks in 2008.

Dynak was arraigned on his charges before District Judge David Barilla on Tuesday and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 10:15 a.m. on June 1.

Dynak is jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 bail.
