WILKES-BARRE — Pennsylvania American Water customers in Sugar Notch, Warrior Run,and the Askam and Preston sections of Hanover Township no longer have to boil their water before use.

PAWC reports that acceptable test results were obtained from samples collected on Nov. 26 and 27, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has authorized lifting of the precautionary advisory.

The boil advisory was issued No. 24 due to low storage tank levels caused by a broken water main along Main Street in Hanover Township.

Pennsylvania American Water thanks its customers for their patience and cooperation during this event.

For more information, contact Pennsylvania American Water’s customer service center at (800) 565-7292.
