CONYNGHAM TWP. — Four area residents will face charges after Pennsylvania State Police Troopers found multiple dogs left outside for an extended period of time Sunday, according to a police report.

The report identified those who will face charges as a known male from Wapwallopen, a known female from Wapwallopen, a known female from Wilkes-Barre and a known female from Freeland.

According to the report:

State police from the Shickshinny barracks responded to a report of multiple dogs left outside in single-digit temperatures at 361 Cemetery Road. Troopers observed several dogs outside with no food, frozen water and inadequate shelter for the temperature.

The owners of the animals were located and took the dogs out of the elements.

A search warrant was obtained for the property and multiple dogs were seized and taken into the protective custody of the Luzerne County SPCA.

Charges will be filed through District Court 11-3-01.
