WILKES-BARRE — A 28-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle reportedly driven by a pregnant woman who sped away Wednesday, police said.

Police said the victim was struck by a vehicle at Hazle Street and South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard at about 8:30 a.m. The driver of the skip vehicle, described as a white pregnant woman, stopped and got out asking the victim if she was calling police. The driver then drove away, officers report.

The victim said the fleeing driver has brown hair and is about 30 to 35 years old.

Police said the victim was transported to a hospital for minor injuries.
