KINGSTON — The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce on Thursday hosted a women’s self-defense seminar, in conjunction with the Women’s Network, in honor of International Women’s Day.
It was held at the Valley Goju Karate studio, 311 Market St.
The class offered self-defense techniques including personal safety, defense tactics and situational awareness. Chief instructor Sean O’Leary walked participants through techniques including punching and kicking.
The Women’s Network empowers women and female professionals in the greater Wilkes-Barre area, provides opportunities to share information, hear presentation on topics and issues of importance, and gives back to the local community.
