BEAR CREEK TWP. — A fire destroyed the interior of a Bear Creek home Sunday afternoon.

A neighbor was working in his backyard and saw flames emitting from the nearby property and called 9-1-1.

Fire crews knocked down the flames in the vacant property on Bella Lane and Route 115.

A neighbor of the vacant property said it had been empty for about a month.

The family who lived in the house told the neighbor that ‘they had to go.’

Bear Creek Township Fire Chief John Krumski did not determine the cause of the fire at the scene.

“It appears to be an arson, but I can’t confirm that until the investigation is over,” Krumski said.
