Your view: Thanks for a successful Night Out

The Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch Coalition would like to thank all of those that came out and supported our enjoyable and successful National Night Out event Aug. 5, which focused on bringing the police and community together.

We would also like to thank all of the businesses and other groups that supported the event through monetary, food donation and volunteer help. Without your assistance none of this would have been possible.

Thank you to Mayor Tony George and his administration for their continued support, Community Policing Officer Robert Collins and the Wilkes-Barre Police Department, the Wilkes-Barre firefighters for educating our children about fire safety, Luzerne County 911 , Luzerne County State Constables, Councilman Tony Brooks for his interesting historical walk and talk around Public Square, NEPR- AACA, the GAR varsity cheerleaders for their amazing face painting skills, Sheffe Abraham for being our DJ, Jim Hayward for his historic photo display, Penn State Master Gardeners, Abe’s Lunch Main Street, Pepsi, Wise Potato Chips, Victims Resource Center, Domestic Violence Center, Wyoming Valley Alcohol and Drug Services and all the folks who donated baskets to support our Wilkes- Barre City Explorers basketball team.
