I have been a parent of a Bear Creek Community Charter School student since the school opened 15 years ago.

This school has helped both my children excel academically. We definitely noticed a difference in the quality of education when my son graduated eighth grade and moved onto high school.

Without the strong foundation my son received at the charter school, I don’t think he could have been successful in high school. Not only did I feel both my children were safe, I feel the charter school excelled in identifying and working to individualize the learning process for my children.

I, as a parent, deserve to choose where my children attend school. As a taxpayer, I feel my tax dollars are well spent by the charter school. You definitely see a return on the investment.

I wish our elected officials would spend more time listening to the parents of students who have benefited from a public charter school education and less time trying to find ways to prevent the charter school’s success.
