Hazleton Area’s run at the District 2/4 Class 6A boys championship came to an end after a 73-68 semifinal loss to Scranton on Tuesday.

Christopher Garcia made five 3-pointers and led the Cougars with 19 points. Angel Cruz had 14 points and Josian Guerrero had 12 to help boost the offense.

Jason Shields was dominant for Scranton with a game-high 22 points.

Scranton will take on Williamsport in the championship game at 8 p.m. Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Willamsport 58, Wilkes-Barre Area 43

Williamsport knocked Wilkes-Barre Area out of the D2/4 6A tournament with asemifinal win.

The Millionaires were led by James Evans-McQuay’s 20 points and Nassir Jones’ 16 points.

Cole Walker had 13 points to lead the Wolfpack.

Williamsport will face Scranton for the title at 8 p.m. Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Elk Lake 54, Northwest 32

The Rangers fell to top-seeded Elk Lake in the D2-2A semifinals.

Matt Howry led Elk Lake with 19 points, followed by Trevor Graham with 11 points and Caden Ramey with 10 points.

Tayler Yaple and Gary McLendon each had nine points for Northwest.

Elk Lake will face Old Forge in the championship game at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Scranton Prep 73, Lake-Lehman 54

Lake-Lehman fell to Scranton Prep in the D2-4A semifinals.

Max Paczewski led the Black Knights with 20 points, including four triples. Josh Kane also added 10 points in the effort.

Rob Rossi had 19 points to lead Scranton Prep and Matthew Cobb had 13.

Scranton Prep will play Mid Valley in the championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mohegan Sun Area.

In boys basketball, Old Forge defeated Mountain View 46-25 in a D2-2A semifinal and Abington Heights defeated North Pocono 61-54 in a D2-5A semifinal.

In a pair of D2-3A girls semifinals, Western Wayne defeated Montrose 58-49 and Riverside defeated Lakeland 67-33.
