Emily Novicki pitched a complete game one-hitter to lead Berwick to a 2-0 victory over Crestwood in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 softball game Tuesday.
Katie Starr went 2-for-4 with a home run for Berwick.
Allison Babula had the lone hit for Crestwood. Jessica Koptcho struck out 12.
Tunkhannock 5, Hazleton Area 2
Kaya Hannon pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts to lead Tunkhannock to a victory over Hazleton Area.
Paige Marabell and Gabby Wood each went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for Tunkhannock. Olivia Wolk went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Hazleton Area.
Wyoming Valley West 5, Wilkes-Barre Area 4
Sara Hoskins pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts to lead Wyoming Valley West to a victory over Wilkes-Barre Area.
At the plate, Hoskins went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Alexis Semanek went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Wilkes-Barre Area.
NDES 13, MMI Prep 6
McKenna Gallagher and Kaylee Witner had two RBI each for MMI Prep in its non-conference loss to Notre Dame East Stroudsburg.
Irene Altmiller had a home run while Witner, Gina Galada and Grace Warner all doubled.
BOYS TRACK
Pittston Area 111, Nanticoke Area 39
David Behm, Alan Williams, Anthony Thomas and Preston Klem each had two individual wins for Pittston Area. Michael Marcella won the pole vault and the javelin for Nanticoke Area
Wyoming Area 103, Lake-Lehman 46
Rocco Pizano won the triple jump, 100 dash and the 200 dash for Wyoming Area. Casey Weaver won the 400 dash and the 800 run for Lehman.
Tunkhannock 110, Hanover Area 38
Jack Chilson won the 100 hurdles, the high jump and the long jump for Tunkhannock. Bobby Sabecky won the 100 dash and the 200 dash for Hanover Area.
Holy Redeemer 99, Northwest 42
Justice Shoats won the 100 dash and the 200 dash for Redeemer. Hunter Gmiter, Landon Kester and Liam Reinard each had an individual win for Northwest.
GIRLS TRACK
Pittston Area 105, Nanticoke Area 44
Aria Messner won the long jump, high jump and the triple jump for Pittston Area. Jakiya Kroon and Giavanna Innamorati also had multiple wins for Pittston Area, both with two each.
Sophia Lukowski won the shotput and the discus for Nanticoke Area.
Lake-Lehman 97, Wyoming Area 53
Autumn Palka, Gabby Shonis, Keera Naugle and Natasha Mihalko set a new school record in the 400 relay for Lehman with a time of 46.5 seconds.
Marissa Gacek, Samara Campenni, Adreanna Cunningham, Aubriana Marranca and Toni Minichello had individual wins for Wyoming Area.
Tunkhannock 107.5, Hanover Area 41.5
Sophia Mancuso won the 100 hurdles, the 300 hurdles and the long jump for Tunkhannock. Madison Osborn won the pole vault and Isabella Popson won the high jump for Hanover Area.
Holy Redeemer 88, Northwest 62
Sydney Rush won the shot put, the discus and the javelin for Holy Redeemer. Victoria Zultevicz, Emma Hayman and Samy Schwartz each had an individual win for Northwest.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Holy Redeemer 3, Crestwood 0
Holy Redeemer defeated Crestwood in three sets 25-14, 25-18, 25-16 to clinch the WVC title.
Matt Spiccioli had 12 kills, two digs and two points to lead Redeemer’s offensive attack. Will Wasiakowski had 24 assists, three digs and seven points.
Reese Mylet, Bailey Durofchalk and Matt Matysczak combined for 22 digs, 12 assists, eight kills and six points for Crestwood.
Delaware Valley 3, Hazleton Area 0
The Warriors swept Hazleton Area 25-19, 25-14, 25-13.
Aidan U’Glay (11 kills, 12 points), Cayden Bell (5 kills, 6 points) and Zane Papula (6 kills, 3 blocks) paced DelVal.
Top players for Hazleton Area were Cristian Posada (5 kills, 2 digs, 4 service points, 1 ace), Connor Wolfe (6 assists, 7 digs, 3 kills) and Elijah Belles (3 kills, 2 blocks, 5 digs).
GIRLS LACROSSE
Crestwood 19, Abington Heights 8
Isabella Caporuscio had seven goals and three assists for Crestwood. Allison Dammer had four goals and one assist for Abington Heights.
Wyoming Seminary 7, Scranton Prep 6
Grace Parsons and Ashley Metz had two goals each for Wyoming Seminary. Annie Johnson had three goals for Scranton Prep.
