Jenna Santuk was dominant in the circle for Holy Redeemer softball as she tossed a no-hitter on Thursday, striking out 13 in a 7-0 win over Wyoming Area.
Santuk came through at the plate as well, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Also contributing were Lynzie Skoronski (2-for-4, 3 RBI) and Akira Kopec (1-for-3, RBI).
Only three baserunners reached against Santuk with two walks by Wyoming Area’s Kayla Leo and Olivia Allen and the third coming on an error.
Lake-Lehman 11, MMI Prep 4
Brenna Hunt, Jillian Ulozas and Krista Scoblick each hit a home run to power Lake-Lehman. Scoblick earned the win, throwing seven three-run innings while striking out six.
Jackie Snyder (2-for-3, 2 RBI), McKenna Gallagher (1-for-4, RBI and Kaylee Witner (2-for-4) contributed to MMI Prep’s offense.
BOYS TENNIS
Seeding for D2 doubles
Unbeaten Wyoming Valley Conference and District 2 Class 2A team champion Dallas landed two of the top three seeds for the district boys tennis doubles tournament, which is scheduled to open Saturday.
Tucker Chesman, a freshman who reached the district singles final, will join Dan Flynn to form the top-seeded team. Dan Dudick-Lucas Carver are seeded third.
Class 3A team champion Abington Heights has the top-seeded doubles team in Class 3A, Sam Weis and Sam Christman.
The Class 2A tournament is scheduled for Kirby Park and the Class 3A tournament is set for North Pocono Middle School Saturday. Action starts at 9 a.m. and will continue through three rounds.
The four semifinalists are tentatively scheduled to play the final two rounds in each tournament beginning Monday at 1 p.m. at Kirby Park.
Michael Hamel, the Wilkes-Barre Area freshman who reached the final, joins Wilkes-Barre Area teammate Stanley Shimko as the second-seeded team in Class 3A.
Berwick’s Brendan Turowski-Dylan Smith is the fourth team in 3A.
Wyoming Seminary’s Keefer Wu-Vaughn Kutich is the fifth-seeded team in Class 2A and Holy Redeemer’s William Wolfgang-Matthew Schuler is the No. 8 team.
Singles champions are ineligible for doubles competition.
Ben Ziegler from Crestwood won in Class 3A while Lenny Maiocco from Western Wayne took his third title in Class 2A.
BOYS LACROSSE
Delaware Valley 19, Lake-Lehman 10
Finnegan McCormack scored five goals and had two assists for Delaware Valley. Also scoring multiple times for the Warriors were Brady Quinn (4 goals, 1 assist), Nate Melnick (4 goals, 2 assists) and Xander Kelly (2 goals, 1 assist).
Colby Roberts had three goals and three assists, Marshall Woodrosky had two goals and one assist and Gavin Paraschak had two goals and four assists for Lake-Lehman.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Lake-Lehman 21, Lakeland 9
Lilian Raczkowski (5 goals, 3 assists), Rachel Shook (5 goals, 2 assists) and Madison Lasinski (5 goals) powered the Black Knights to the win.
Also scoring for Lehman were Maddy Raspen (3 goals, 2 assists), Ava Radel (1 goal, 2 assists) and Lyndsey Frey (1 goal).
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Nanticoke Area 3, Hanover Area 0
Nanticoke Area swept Hanover Area 25-15, 25-15, 25-11.
Matt Gomelko had one service point, two aces, two blocks, two digs, eight kills and 16 assists for Nanticoke.
Delaware Valley 3, Berwick 0
Delaware Valley defeated Berwick 25-15, 25-22, 25-18.
Cody Smith had nine kills, Sam Segura had seven digs and Andrew Blockus had 17 assists for Berwick.
