Owen Rowlands scored twice for Wyoming Seminary, picking up the game-winner early in the second half on Friday as the Blue Knights edged Nanticoke Area 3-2 in a WVC boys soccer match.

Thomas Iskra had a goal and an assist for Sem while Matt Swartz picked up a pair of helpers.

Gio Huertero and Khalil Khan had the goals for the Trojans, who got 21 saves from Owen Brown to keep his team alive.

GIRLS SOCCER

Dallas 3, Hazleton Area 1

Megan MacNeely’s second goal of the day proved to be the game-winner, breaking a tie midway through the second half.

MacNeely opened the scoring for a 1-0 halftime lead for the Mounts before the Cougars answered after the break with a goal from Sara Balay. Iris Hobson-Tomascik scored late to give Dallas a cushion.

Morgan Solano finished with three saves in the win.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Dallas 3, North Pocono 0

Maddie Musselman finished with 14 kills, 10 blocks, three aces and two digs as the Mountaineers earned a 25-22, 25-16, 25-23 sweep.

Kya Yourdon (2 aces, 1 service point, 10 kills, 4 digs) and Abby Salitis (2 aces, 1 service point, 4 kills, 9 digs) also contributed in the win.

Wyoming Seminary 5, Hanover Area 0

The Blue Knights earned a sweep of the Hawkeyes, dropping just one game in any set over four contested matches.

Ilana Rosenthal, Victoria Martinez and the team of Margaret Mihalick and Maria Nolte all won 6-0, 6-0 as Seminary remained unbeaten atop the league standings.

Tunkhannock 4, Hazleton Area 1

Leah Klose and Hannah Aitken won in singles play for the Tigers, who also won both doubles matches.

Emily Prokopovich prevailed at No. 2 singles for the Cougars.
