Trailing by five on the road with six minutes left, Misericordia clawed back at the Marts Center to earn a 61-56 over Wilkes in a MAC Freedom men’s basketball matchup.

The Cougars ended the game on a 12-2 run to knock off the Colonels.

Joseph Baldachino finished with 18 points to lead the Cougars. Kevin Lazdowsky added 14 points.

Drake Marshall, who beat first-place DeSales with a late shot last week, led Wilkes with 18 points. Trent Fisher turned in a big double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Lycoming 68, King’s 49

JJ Glinsky came off the bench to score 15 points to top the Monarchs in a home loss. JJ Walsh scored 12 points.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Misericordia 56, Wilkes 29

The Cougars held the host Colonels to just 9-for-54 shooting (16.7%) to earn the road win.

Alyssa Bondi scored 11 points while Melina Santacroce recorded a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds to lead Misericordia.

Wilkes got five points apiece from Julia Marino, Katelyn Kinczel and Baylee Guedes.

King’s 75, Lycoming 38

The Monarchs won their fifth straight game as Samantha Rajza led all scorers with 19 points, six rebounds and two steals.

Emily Morana had 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds while Caileigh Costello had 13 points.
