Tunkhannock swept Crestwood 3-0 in a high school boys volleyball match Monday.

The Tigers won by game scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-5.

Tunkhannock’s Jakob Steffy led the Tigers with 20 assists, nine digs and three aces. Dylan Mateus (six kills, four aces, six digs) and Brady Slacktish (eight kills, three aces, two blocks) also contributed to the the Tigers win.

BOYS TENNIS

Wyoming Area 4, Tunkhannock 1

Nick Winsock and Sean Burke each won singles matches for the visiting Warriors. Winsock beat Chris Mirabelli 6-2, 6-3, while Burke won over Kaleb Gruver 6-1, 6-4.

The doubles matches added more wins for the Tigers as Gabe Cable and Braiden Kostik had a 6-1, 6-2 win over Elijah Goglin and Silvan Pineau. Eli Harding and Nick Cirelli picked up the final win of the matchup over Evan Brody and Kaden Gaudet 6-2, 6-0.

Zak Keiser won his singles match 6-0, 6-0 for the Tigers only win.

Holy Redeemer 3, Crestwood 2

The Royals came out with a one-point win over the Comets with two wins in the singles and a doubles win.

Holy Redeemer’s William Wolfgang took down Scott Lenio 6-0, 6-1 in the singles and Caleb Hurley added another singles win for the Royals, beating Jack Sklaroski 7-5, 7-5.

In the first doubles matchup of the day, Redeemer’s Hunter Wesolowski and Saji Alam attained a 6-2, 6-0 win over Will Savner and Aaron Kojoy.

For the Comet’s, Braiden Fallbright and Noah Cekloski beat Caleb Cackowski and Josh Van Pelt, 6-0, 5-7, 6-4. Tommy Biscotti won in the singles by default for Crestwood.

Wyoming Seminary 4, Wilkes-Barre Area 1

Vaughn Kutish and Jeremy Han each posted singles wins for Wyoming Seminary.

In doubles, Sem got victories from the team of Marco Magnotta and Ryan Chun and the team of Will Snowdon and Parker Mosley.

Michael Hamel picked up Wilkes-Barre Area’s lone win in singles.

Berwick 4, Hazleton 1

Berwick’s Brendon Turowski, Dylan Smith and Ean Magrove all picked up singles wins.

In the doubles, John Ebert and Micah Demko took on Hazleton’s Alex Hanas and Josh Strohl. Ebert and Demko came out on top in three sets with scores of 6-1, 2-6, 7-1.

Shezan Khetani and Alex Fernandez picked up the only Hazleton win in a doubles match over Berwick’s Zack Bedwell and Zander Switzer 6-0, 6-4.

BOYS LACROSSE

Lake Lehman 18, Holy Redeemer 0

Gavin Paraschak led Lake Lehman with five goals and seven assists in the shutouot win.

Landon Schuckers followed with five goals and one assist. Connor Spencer and Jake Olson each added two goals, while Brandon Ritinski, Hayden Evans, Josh Ryan and Brady Law contributed one goal each for the Black Knights.

Andrew Evans had four saves leading to the big win.

Wyoming Seminary 17, Scranton Prep 3

Mat Swartz led Seminary with nine goals and three assists in the 14-point win over Prep.

Jack Herron and Xavier Beaulac each added three goals to follow Swartz. Jack Higgins finished out the scoring with two goals.

Quinn Kelly recorded 15 saves in goal for Seminary.

Dillon Beermann, Robbie Watkins and Gerald Donahue recorded Prep’s only goals.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Crestwood 23, Lakeland 3

Crestwood got goals from 17 different players.

Isabella Caporuscio and Julia Glowacki each contributed three goals. Grace Pasternick and Mia Costello followed with two goals each. Mary Kate Banford, Emma Domzalski, Kate Gallagher, Olivia Jardine, Brooke Lapinski, Sydney Magda, Maggie Modrovsky, Haily Morales, Kennedy Mullen, Taylor O’Farrell, Ella Panzik, Rebecca Tirpak and Kennedy Zlockie each added one goal respectively.

Caporuscio and Glowacki led in assists with three each. Morgan Koons added three goalie saves, while Ainsley Webby followed with one goalie save.

COLLEGES

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Misericordia 8, King’s 1

Junior Emily Morano posted the lone win for the Monarchs as they fell, 8-1, to the visiting Cougars at Kirby Park on Monday afternoon. The Monarchs drop to 1-11 overall and 0-3 MAC Freedom play, while the Cougars remain unbeaten at 10-0 with a 4-0 mark in conference play.

Morano earned her win at No. 5 singles with set wins of 6-4 and 6-3 over Misericordia’s Cassie Benderavich.

SOFTBALL

Misericordia 8, Delaware Valley 0 (DH)

The Cougars picked up a pair of conference wins after sweeping a doubleheader with Delaware Valley, 8-0, 11-3, in five innings, Monday afternoon.

In game one, Alexa McHugh struck out eight over four innings and allowed only two baserunners. Nicole Elliot went 2-3 with a homer and three RBI.

In the nightcap, Burd went 3-3 with three runs scored and four RBI. Ryan Zimmerman went 3-3 with a double, two RBI and her first career homer.

Marissa Kelly struck out two over four innings of work and picked up the win.

BASEBALL

Delaware Valley 8, King’s 7

Six different Monarchs recorded multi-hit games as part of the team’s 14 hit-effort, but the offensive output fell short as the King’s College baseball team fell to the visiting Delaware University.

The Monarchs fall to 8-14 overall and 2-10 in conference play, while the Aggies improve to 9-13 and 3-9 in the conference standings after Monday’s matchup at Lipo Field.

Brandon Loner paced King’s as he went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Andrew Steidle also scored twice in the loss, while Pat Noone matched Loner’s team-high two RBI. Matt Martin recorded the loss in relief, throwing for 1.0 innings and giving up one earned run on one hit.

Scranton 10, Misericordia 9

The Cougars had their four-game winning streak snapped with a 13-inning loss at Scranton.

Garrett McIlhenney had two hits and Santino Manganella had a two-run double.

Max Oliver scattered seven hits over five shutout innings and Justin Calvarese struck out four in four scoreless innings of relief.

Scranton scored the winning run on a double error in the bottom of the 13th inning.
