Sophomore Aaron Crossley tied a Wyoming Area school record by running a 10.7 in the 100-meter dash, helping the Warriors track and field team stay unbeaten with an 88-61 win over Holy Redeemer on Wednesday.

Crossley also won the 200 for Wyoming Area. Justice Shoats won the long jump and high jump for the Royals.

Hazleton Area 98, Wyoming Valley West 52

Logan Slusser, Joseph Mazaika, Russell Blew and Ethan Kintzel all won multiple events to lead the Cougars to the victory.

The Spartans won a pair of relay events as well as the pole vault and high jump.

GIRLS TRACK

Wyoming Area 91.5, Holy Redeemer 47.5

The undefeated Warriors got two individual event wins apiece from Sofia Gonzales, Madelyn Keating and Toni Minichello.

Isabella Granteed topped the Warriors with a pair of first-place finishes.

Hazleton Area 118, Wyoming Valley West 32

Lauren Festa won the triple jump and long jump for the Cougars while teammate Gabriella Bredbenner won the 100 and 200.

Brandy Varner took first in the shot put and discus for the Spartans’ wins on the day.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Dallas 3, Berwick 0

The Mountaineers earned a 25-15, 25-15 25-18 sweep of the Bulldogs. Leading Dallas were Angelo Zarola (7 digs, 11 kills, 5 service points), Austin Finarelli (17 digs, 11 kills, 3 service points) and Brandon Banks (7 digs, 7 service points, 1 ace, 26 assists).

Berwick got 15 digs from Graham Marshman, two kills from Jayden Charles and seven digs from Brock Seely.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Lake-Lehman 16, Pittston Area 4

Madison Lasinski led the way for the Black Knights, finishing with six goals. Lilian Raczkowski also figured in on six goals, scoring four times and setting up two others. Madison Raspen had three goals and an assist.

Mia Marriggi scored twice for the Patriots.

Crestwood 20, Wilkes-Barre Area 2

Twelve different players scored for the Comets, led by four from Isabella Caporuscio and three apiece by Julia Glowacki and Grace Pasternick.

Ella Farrell had both scores for the Wolfpack.

BOYS LACROSSE

Lake-Lehman 14, Abington Heights 0

Andrew Evans made five saves for the shutout and the Black Knights controlled play behind six goals and an assist from Gavin Paraschak.

Colby Roberts finished with three goals and an assist and Jake Olson scored twice in the win.

BOYS TENNIS

Honesdale 4, Berwick 1

Brendan Turowski won at No. 1 singles for the Bulldogs, but the Hornets took the other matches for the victory.

Wilkes-Barre Area 4, MMI Prep 1

The Wolfpack swept singles competition behind wins from Michael Hamel, Stanley Shimko and Amir Samadian.

Blake Warren and Jason Salio won for the Preppers at first doubles.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

Misericordia 16, Wilkes 5

The Cougars got goals from eight different players and led the entire way in a MAC Freedom road win.

Maleah Cobham and Brooklyn Pedana each scored twice for the Colonels.

King’s 21, Delaware Valley 2

Five different Monarchs recorded hat tricks in the rout, with Grace Venis leading the effort with five goals.

MEN’S LACROSSE

Misericordia 17, Wilkes 6

The Cougars opened with an 8-0 lead en route to a home win in MAC Freedom play.

Robert Wagner had five goals and two assists to top Misericordia while Luke Palladino scored three times for the Colonels.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Wilkes 5, Misericordia 4

Cassidy Greenman and Alexa Cieri both won in singles and doubles play for the Colonels, who handed the Cougars their first loss of the season.

Brianna Pizzano and Emily Brecker also won twice in the match for Misericordia.

MEN’S TENNIS

Alvernia 6, King’s 3

The Monarchs got a pair of wins from Jacob Nelson in the loss. Nelson won at No. 6 singles and teamed with Cody Zheng to prevail at No. 3 doubles.

BASEBALL

Wilkes 7, Alvernia 6

The Colonels posted a big late rally with five runs in the seventh and eighth innings to prevail.

Wilkes tied the game in the seventh and scored the winning run on an error in the eighth. Jason Spezzaferra went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI.
